AERMATICA - INTEGRAZIONE DI SOLUZIONI APPLICATIVE PER DRONI - IMG LINGUA INGLESE

Aermatica3D, in collaboration with Headwall, has delivered the first high-performance hyperspectral camera integrated onto a drone for industrial use to Agronica (Diagram Group).

This milestone marks the adoption of drone-based hyperspectral technology as an operational tool for precision agriculture applications on an industrial scale.

Como, September 23, 2026

Aermatica3D, an Italian company specializing in the engineering and integration of UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) solutions, has delivered a Headwall Nano-HP hyperspectral camera—manufactured by the U.S. company Headwall and integrated by Aermatica3D onto the DJI Matrice 400, DJI Enterprise’s most advanced drone—to Agronica, a company within the Diagram Group.

The purchase is part of the research and development activities outlined in the Italian Kentucky tobacco (Sigaro Toscano) supply chain contract, with the goal of developing technological solutions that can be practically implemented by operators in the supply chain.

The instrument will be used for aerial hyperspectral surveys aimed at assessing the vegetative status of crops.

By analyzing the light reflected by plants across hundreds of spectral bands—including those beyond the visible spectrum—the sensor detects signals associated with water, nutritional, and phytosanitary stress in crops that cannot be detected using traditional technologies.

Its integration onto the drone—chosen for its high payload capacity and long flight endurance—enables automated and optimized surveys over large areas, ensuring a level of detail, precision, and reliability that until now has been reserved almost exclusively for the research sector.

This project marks the first application in the private industrial sector in Italy.

It represents an important step toward the development of additional initiatives already planned within the Diagram Group.

In particular, the project lays the groundwork for a more widespread use of drones in advanced agronomic applications and for the development of infrastructure dedicated to land surveillance and monitoring through remote-controlled flight systems.

Aermatica3D Develops the World's First DJI Agras T100 FTS with EASA MOC-2511 Certification

Aermatica3D is proud to announce that it is the first company in the world to develop a Flight Termination System (FTS) for the DJI Agras T100 with EASA MOC-2511 certification.

This achievement is more than just a technical record; it is the only legal bridge allowing Italian operators to utilize the Agras T100 in advanced operational scenarios.

Why is the FTS system with MOC-2511 indispensable?

The DJI Agras T100 is a large-scale drone—weighing over 150 kg at takeoff with a 100-liter liquid tank—designed to maximize field productivity. However, EASA and ENAC regulations are extremely strict regarding the safety of aircraft of this size.

To operate legally in Italy within typical scenarios that require ENAC Authorization and a SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) risk analysis, the drone must be equipped with an FTS certified according to the MOC-2511 standard.

The Bottom Line: Without this specific certified FTS kit, obtaining flight authorization for the Agras T100 becomes an insurmountable bureaucratic obstacle.

First in Italy with ENAC Authorization for the DJI Agras T100

We didn't stop at hardware design and manufacturing. Aermatica3D has set another record: after already securing ENAC authorizations for the entire DJI Agras series, we were the first to obtain ENAC authorization via SORA for the DJI Agras T100.

This means we have already mapped out the route. We know exactly which technical and documentary requirements are needed to prove the safety of these operations to ENAC and obtain a generic authorization (one not tied to a specific field).

Advantages of the Aermatica3D FTS:

- Global Exclusivity: We are the only providers of the MOC-2511 certified FTS specifically for the DJI Agras T100.

- Total Compliance: The system meets the highest risk mitigation standards required by EASA.

- Direct Experience: We don’t just sell a product; we provide a solution that we ourselves have tested and had approved by the Aviation Authority first.

The FTS for the DJI Agras T100 extends the Aermatica3D family of terminators, which now covers the entire DJI Agras drone series.

Today we are with Roberto Remagni Buoli, from the Buoli Attilio di Remagni Silvio e C s.n.c. company, a company that has been contracting in the agricultural sector for almost eighty years. We had the chance to talk about drones and biological control of tomato spider mites and corn borers.

Aermatica3D: Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you met Aermatica3D?
Roberto Remagni Buoli: We are a company that does service contracting in agriculture. For ten years we have offered treatments on corn using the stilt. In 2016, tired of being in contact with the insecticide, we decided to stop. At Verona Agricultural Fair in February 2016 we saw a drone offering treatments against trichogram borer and we decided to try it on our plots. After two years of excellent results, we have obtained the necessary certificates to use a drone. In 2018, Marco Zambelli, CAI-Consorzi Agrari D'Italia agronomist, advised us to purchase Aermatica3D drones solutions. The General Manager of Aermatica3D, Eng. Paolo Marras, gave us a demonstration of the DJI Matrice 100 product with the D-Box capsule distribution kit and we immediately fell in love, a very precise, intuitive and simple to use system. From there it all started. In 2024, we upgraded to a DJI Matrice 350 with integration of Aermatica3D Agriculture Kits.
Aermatica3D: How long have you been working in the drone sector and how did you come to specialize in agricultural services?
Roberto Remagni Buoli: I have been working in the drone sector since 2018. The specialization in agricultural services was born from the need to find more effective and sustainable solutions compared to traditional methods.
Aermatica3D: What are the main benefits of using drones in biological control compared to traditional methods?
Roberto Remagni Buoli: The main benefits are respect for the environment and the absence of trampling of the ground, guaranteeing greater sustainability for the operator and the ecosystem.
Aermatica3D: Can you describe how the release of Trichogramma brassicae occurs via drones for corn borer control?
Roberto Remagni Buoli: The release of the Trichogramma is very simple with the Aermatica3D app. You arrive in the field, define the boundaries together with the farmer, enter the working parameters, fill the container and the drone does everything else autonomously.
Aermatica3D: What specific technologies and equipment do you use for this type of work?
Roberto Remagni Buoli: We use the M350 for its greater battery life and capacity. The Aermatica3D App, together with the distributor, guarantees precise work with georeferenced reports. Additionally, we are using the K-Kit for phytoseiid releases.
Aermatica3D: In terms of costs, how does the use of drones for biological control compare to manual or chemical methods?
Roberto Remagni Buoli: The use of drones is competitive in terms of costs, especially considering the reduction in foot traffic and the effectiveness of the release of biological agents without the use of chemicals.
Aermatica3D: How much time do you save using drones for the release of biological agents such as Trichogramma brassicae compared to traditional methods?
Roberto Remagni Buoli: With the M100 I was able to cover 100 hectares in a day, while with the M350, thanks to the greater autonomy and capacity, we can reach 150 hectares a day without problems. We saved about 30% in costs compared to manual methods.
Aermatica3D: What feedback have you received from your customers on the effectiveness of biological control carried out with drones?
Roberto Remagni Buoli: The feedback was very positive. Customers appreciate the precision and effectiveness of biological agent delivery via drones, as well as the environmental benefits.
Aermatica3D: Can you share some results or success stories that demonstrate the effectiveness of this technology?

We recently had the pleasure of interviewing Alessandro Zucchini, a young and passionate drone enthusiast from Ferrara that just purchased our D-Box system for capsule distribution with drones. Despite his age, Alessandro has already made significant strides in the world of drones and technology. He shared with us his journey from high school competitions,  to working with renowned production companies like RAI and Sky.

Aermatica3D: Good morning Alessandro, thanks for being here with us. Please, first tell us a little about yourself.
Alessandro Zucchini: Good morning, my name is Alessandro Zucchini, I'm 24 years old and I come from Ferrara. I am relatively young, but I have been passionate about the world of drones since high school. Even then I was interested in technology and 3D printing. I have participated in several competitions, such as the Robotics Olympics in Milan, where I created a 3D printed therapeutic hand exoskeleton. After school, I started working to pay for drone flying courses. Later, I opened the VAT number and now I mainly deal with video productions with drones, collaborating with various production companies, including RAI and Sky.
Aermatica3D: You recently purchased a DJI Matrice 350 drone equipped with the Aermatica3D D-Box capsule distribution kit. How did you discover this technology?
Alessandro Zucchini: I discovered the DJI Matrice 350 with the Aermatica3D kit thanks to another customer, Luca Raimondi. I saw his equipment and noticed that it was produced by Aermatica3D. I learned about their products via social media and the company website. I found their products reliable and well made compared to others on the market, so I decided to rely on them.

Aermatica3D: How do you think this technology will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of work in organic farming?
Alessandro Zucchini: I haven't started using it yet, so I can't speak from personal experience. However, I am convinced that the drone will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of interventions in organic farming. The eggs of insects useful for biological control, such as the trichogramma brassicae against the corn borer and other pests, can be distributed in very large quantities using small, lightweight capsules. A lightweight drone equipped with the Aermatica3D D-Box can automatically distribute the capsules ensuring coverage of a field using the integrated BLY3D software. Distributing the capsules with the drone makes the intervention more sensible than the use of chemical products, allowing a biological approach. This can also be interesting for farmers in terms of costs and speed of intervention. I already have some interested customers and we will see how it goes this year.
Aermatica3D: What are your expectations for the use of the drone in your agricultural business?
Alessandro Zucchini: My expectations are high. I believe the drone can revolutionize the way we manage organic crops. I hope to see greater effectiveness in the distribution of capsules and a reduction in costs and intervention times. I also expect an improvement in plant health and crop quality.
Aermatica3D: Would you recommend this technology to other farmers? If yes, why?
Alessandro Zucchini: Yes, I would definitely recommend it. I think that drones represent the future of agriculture, especially organic agriculture. They offer a more efficient and sustainable way of managing crops. With the D-Box, Aermatica3D capsule distribution kit, farmers can adopt more natural and environmentally friendly methods, reducing the use of chemical products. The D-Box allows us to avoid the use of large tractors to spread chemical substances on crops, eliminating both safety problems for operators and the impact on crops and the environment.
Aermatica3D: Thank you very much, Alessandro, for your time and for sharing your experience with us. We wish you the best in your business.
Alessandro Zucchini: Thanks to you, it was a pleasure.

Aermatica3D, the only DJI Agriculture distributor, assistance and training center in Italy, has obtained ENAC authorization category Specific to fly with the DJI Agras T30, a drone weighing over 76kg for applications in Agriculture. Aermatica3D makes the Authorization package available to contractors and farm operators for carrying out distribution activities in compliance with the regulations.

The Agras T30 is DJI's top-of-the-line agricultural drone in Europe. With a 30 liter spray tank and distribution system payload capacity of up to 40 kg, 16 nozzles and a spray radius of 9 metres, the T30 raises the bar for aerial spray efficiency by covering up to to 16 hectares in one hour. The frame is foldable, made of carbon fiber composite materials, with a foldable design for easy transport.

The DJI Agras T30  is able to distribute both liquid and granulated products. Thanks to DJI's Agras T30 drone, a new solution has been developed that allows for more targeted and precise spraying, reducing the overall use of the product, with a positive impact on the environment. The use of the drone in agriculture also eliminates the risk factor for agricultural operators in interventions in dangerous scenarios, due for example to the conformation of a steep terrain or to the difficulty and danger of entering the fields with traditional means due to flooding.

The authorization obtained from Aermatica3D is generic and allows you to use the DJI Agras T30, a drone that weighs more than 25 kg which therefore falls into the Specific category, independently from the geographical constraints of the airfield. “This is a big step forward for us at Aermatica3D, as we can now make documentation, support and training available to our customers, giving operators in the agricultural sector the opportunity to obtain ENAC authorization and therefore be able to operate with the DJI Agras T30” says Aermatica3D's General Manager Paolo Marras.

In the DJI Agriculture fleet available for immediate delivery in Italy from Aermatica3D, the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral for multispectral maps and the DJI Agras T10, up to 10 liters of tank preferable for the distribution of liquids and granules in complex scenarios, we can now add the authorized use of the DJI Agras T30.

On 16 May in Florence, at the Coldiretti Toscana headquarters was held the Oliviculture 4.0 conference, the final event of the Olimpolli Montagnani Operational Group.

At 09:00 the President of Coldiretti Toscana Fabrizio Filippi opened the meeting, followed by speeches by Federico Montagnani (Tenuta Montagnani), Claudio Cantini (CNR IBE), Stefano Pattaro (Consorzio Agrari d'Italia), Giampaolo Cai and Marco Romi (University of Siena), Gianni Tacconi (BIOTAC), Guido Sabatinelli (GUISA Biotechnology Devices), Paolo Marras (Aermatica3D) and Lorenzo Marcolini (Impresa Verde Grosseto, AGER).

The Olimpolli Montagnani Operational Group (financed with measure 16 of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Plan of the Tuscany Region) aims to solve the problem of poor pollination of the olive tree, which affects the overall productivity of the olive groves, verifying from a practical point of view the effect of pollen dispersion on fruit set and profitability per hectare.

The project in brief

The Operational Group, in fact, intends to raise the productivity of the olive groves without any change in the corporate structures simply with the controlled contribution, currently identified as ideal, of the best pollen for the variety of interest.

The technology used in the project

Pollination activities are carried out using machinery never used in olive growing, although existing and used in other areas. Some, for example the Soffi@polline Biotac, have been developed for the pollination of kiwis, others are only being introduced on walnuts and pistachios (drone with pollen distribution kit).

he innovative aspects

The main innovation consists in the distribution of pollen on plants to be carried out by drone at the moment of best receptivity for the stigma. The technique, never applied before on olive trees, takes its cue from some tests carried out on other wood species.
A further innovation consists in verifying the various aspects related to the distribution of pollen in olive growing, which will involve the involvement not only of farms but also of some Italian machinery manufacturers. It is estimated that the repercussions on the primary sector are important because an increase in fruit setting and consequent productivity estimated at around 20-25% is expected.

The replicability

This technique can affect all Tuscan olive groves, even the traditional ones, without any significant change in the farm structure, not requiring onerous interventions for farms. The project therefore intends to put into operation and test, within some model farms, the system for controlling flowering, distributing pollen on the flowers, verifying fruit setting and the trend of summer and harvest production, analyzing the costs / benefits of this practice.

Expected results

a) the implementation of an assisted pollination system that can be technically and economically evaluated;
b) the increase in the productivity of traditional olive groves;
c) the development of an innovation transmission network on a regional scale;
d) the evaluation of the use of drones in olive groves as a tool for pollen dispersion but potentially also for other agronomic purposes related to precision agriculture.
