FTS - Flight Termination System

Aermatica3D has designed the flight termination system to fly in complex scenarios and to protect drone and payload from any flyaway according to the regulations required by ENAC and EASA.

Aermatica3D flight termination systems don’t need to be installed inside the aircraft and it’s not necessary to open the drone to install our product, so installing our product doesn’t invalidate any warranty and make our FTS easy to remove even during the operations. Aermatica3d’s FTSs have passed long laboratory tests to verify reliability in operating conditions, range tests, and flight tests that have demonstrated non-interference with the other devices in the system.

The Aermatica3D flight termination system for DJI Matrice 300 drones consists of the remote control, a transmitter, and the onboard SLAVE receiver unit, complete with double CUT OFF for cutting power to the drone. The two onboard units communicate via a special connection cable.

According to the drone and the sensors installed, FTS 300 can be integrated with an emergency parachute to fly, according to the regulations set by ENAC and EASA, in complex scenarios sheltered from any flyaways for better safety for the drone and the sensors installed.

As prescribed by the regulations, the Flight Termination System, when activated via the REMOTE CONTROLLER, operates by cutting the power supply to the drone and stopping the flight through a communication channel utterly independent from that of Command and Control the drone.

The MASTER unit is configured to perform an automatic channel search when switched on by scanning all the available channels to position itself in a few seconds on the one freest from any interference.

Radio communication is also protected by cryptographic keys, which prevent any attempts to by third parties to violate the radio code and any intervention on the on-board unit.

The FTS 600 compatible with both DJI’s Matrice 600 drones and Aermatica3D’s BLY-C drones can be combined with an emergency parachute for sensors and drone’s safety and to be able to fly in complex scenarios protected from any Flyaway and according to ENAC and EASA regulations.

The system consists in the remote control, a transmitter, and the SLAVE receiving unit on board, complete with double CUT OFF to cut the drone’s power supply. The two onboard units communicate via a special connection cable, moreover the radio controller and the Flight Termination System coupled and coded to be able to use multiple FTS without any interference.
