An article on Dronezine, an Italian magazine on drones, UAVs, and SAPR, talks about SFIDA, a project for distributing pesticides with drones against the olive fly; Aermatica3D has provided both DJI drones customized with Aermatica3D Liquid Distribution Kit and the BLY3D automatic distribution management software.
The project, funded by the Marche Region, has obtained a special derogation from the Ministry of Health to use this technology, also Hon. Tullio Patassini has presented to the Chamber of Deputies a law proposal that aims to develop these applications.

The future in agriculture passes through drones, able to bring over crops, agrochemicals, fertilizers, seeds and useful insects, and any kind of sensors. So, the role of drones in the farms of the future was the topic at the event dedicated to agriculture and farming at Dronitaly 2021, with among the participants also Aermatica3D.

What is the strength of Aermatica3D?

AERMATICA3D carried out an innovative activity supporting integrated biological control of mosquito in a project founded by Regione Emilia-Romagna and Comune di Comacchio, in collaboration with Centro ecologia applicata delta del Po of Comacchio.
Integrated control is based predominantly based on larval control with a biological product, characterized by a low environmental impact thanks to the specific action selectivity that makes it harmless to non-target organisms, including man.
Everyday several kilometers between ditches and colonies in agricultural areas, flooded areas naturally submerged occasionally by rains and tidal peaks are subjected to antilvaral treatment; all those areas are particularly suited to the use of drones.
Organic larvicidal control is the most effective and ecological method; the use of the drone opens new possibilities, allowing access to difficult outbreaks and pathways, and also permits to expand the controlled area to more effectively combat infestations from distant areas.
Experimental activity demonstrated by using AERMATICA3D drone solutions the possibility to carry out rapid and effective distribution operations.
In fact, an innovative process has been applied; standing water areas maps are generated by a fast drone survey and then a drone equipped with biological liquid distribution kit automatically sprays in a precise way only in that areas eliminating almost completely the mosquito larvae.

In this activity they have been used AERMATICA3D BLY-A drone (based on DJI Matrice 100 platform) and equipped with high performances multispectral sensors and AERMATICA3D BLY-C (based on DJI Matrice 600 platform) equipped with a 10 liters automatic liquid distribution kit.
All flights have been scheduled on the field with the APP AERMATICA3D BLYCC that supports the development of applications on DJI platforms, and executed in a completely automatic way. Multispectral data rapid processing of field and ease of planning enabled the biological product to be quickly and efficiently distributed in targeted areas only on areas where water accumulations and hence the mosquitoes were identified.
At the end of the activity the efficiency of distribution have been measured and the results were excellent.
