The history and experience of Aermatica3D began about 20 years ago, thanks to a group of engineers with experience in the aeronautical and aerospace sector. The Aermatica team was the first to be authorized by the Italian Civil Aviation Authority to fly a drone weighing less than 25 kg in Italy and the first to be authorized to fly in critical scenarios, both in industrial contexts, such as ENEL's electricity production plant, and in urban areas, such as during the 2014 Milan Derby at San Siro. A pioneer in the era of civil drones in Italy, Aermatica3D has designed its drones with an aeronautical approach, contributing to the development of important innovations such as collective pitch rotors for multirotor drones.
An investment by an industrial group based in Como in 2016 led Aermatica3D to a new and renewed industrial project, characterized by continuous growth and the development of numerous projects for major international clients, as well as the achievement of numerous awards, such as those obtained in 2018 and 2022 from EIMA (Europe's most important agricultural fair), which rewarded Aermatica3D's technological innovation for its kits and drones designed for agriculture, or the Olimpolli project, developed with the contribution of Aermatica3D, aimed at assisted pollination of olive trees and presented in 2019 in the Senate to the Agriculture and Agri-Food Production Commission by Paolo Marras, CEO of Aermatica3D, and finally the most recent CleanFly project.
Aermatica3D is a DJI Enterprise Gold Partner and DJI Agriculture Dealer, Official Maintenance Center, and DJI Agriculture Academy Center in Italy. Aermatica3D is also a System Integrator for DJI technologies and develops applications based on DJI SDK (Payload SDK, Mobile SDK, Cloud SDK).
Aermatica3D is a DroneTag, Headwall, and CUBEPILOT dealer in Italy, as well as a system integrator and developer of solutions based on Pixhawk Flight Controllers using open source software suites and Elistair, an international manufacturer of tethered drone systems. Aermatica3D is also a dealer of Airscort docks and hangars for battery replacement.
The CleanFly project is carried out with the support of resources from the European Union, the Italian State, and the Lombardy Region, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 1303/2013 – Annex XXII and Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 821/2014 – Articles 4 and 5 (European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and European Social Fund (ESF) of the Lombardy Region and the European Union). In the CleanFly project, Aermatica3D has studied and implemented a flying proximity system for cleaning and weeding vertical walls with drones, such as ancient walls and facades of prestigious buildings such as ancient palaces.
